Video Storytelling:

Was there ever a story you wanted to ask your mom, dad or grandparent but never had the time or chance to hear what they had to say? Living Memoirs can preserve living history with a video recording. A 30min video will be edited to tell a story and record the mannerisms and voice of a family member for years to come.

We provide a worksheet to help motivate and start conversations about the person's past.  We also find it helpful for you to dig up maybe 20-30 images from the past which will also help create stories and inspiration for conversation. These can also be incorporated into the video by our team of creative editors.

All sessions can be customized to each family and the story they would like to share. It is a great way to get family history recorded and then easily shared with other family members and friends across the world.

What to Expect:

We will guide you through the process but first we will have a meet and greet where we tell you what we need you to do before the actual interview. Expect 1/2hr to 1 hour for our first meeting.

The day of the interview we will have maybe 15-25 min of set up and then the actual interview

will be about 1-2 hours which will be broken down into 15 min segments for water breaks snacks, etc.

You will need to find a comfortable chair in your home and its important you wear something that you feel great in!

Our interviewer will make sure you stay on track with your initial story time line, because it can be so easy to get lost in a story or repeat something you already may have mentioned!

We will bring a white board for you to see to help all of us stay with the topics we discussed prior to the interview.

Remember this is Your story, not ours!

Topics:

We are all made up of numerous stories but we are only going to show case a few of them here in your personal video. This is a good time to reflect and to remember your top three to four great ones to share with your family and friends.  Think of this as maybe the "elevator speech" for your life. Some topics could be Family, Art/Hobbies, Inspiration/Passions, or maybe a few Life Lessons you would like to leave behind to your grandchildren and future generations.

So what is your legacy ?  It is the family history that connects us all, but remember this isn't your entire life story, its just a few vignettes. This is why it is important to start thinking before your main interview, who is this for? One good way is to choose three topics and come up with three good memorable stories or lessons you learned along the way.

Small Business Stories:

Not only do we showcase stories from the past, but we can help you showcase your past and present business.

This can be a longer video where you can share the story of how you started your commercial endeavor, or help someone with some advice about what you learned as a small business owner, or just a small clip of what you do and who you are, our team can make this happen.

Memorial Stories:

Living Memoirs can also help guide and direct a short movie of a loved one’s life as they near the end. This memorial story can be played at a funeral or wake, where the loved one can share his or her stories to family and friends.  Although this is hard to do, it is also a great way to remember a loved one and to personalize a memorial. We can collect old images and put a slide show together for you of these images with your loved one's favorite music.

Memorial Video to leave behind

Digital Editing:

Our editors will combine photos and the video into a 60 min or more life story . Music is optional but please remember copyright issues. All of this makes for a wonderful moving life story.
